Procedure & Composition

Creating a composition for a portrait allows sensitivity to different elements which give mood and expression to the character of the person. In the initial meeting with the client, the character of the portrait medium and the deposit to secure the booking are established. Two sessions are required to begin a major commision. In the first session the artist will photograph the subject in different lighting conditions and poses at the studio. During the second session the artist and client will discuss the final design and composition.
